The Home-School Partnership

Marva Collins Cottage School isn't for every child or every family. We invite you to think about your family's values and whether they align with ours. MCCS isn't intended to disrupt or compete with traditional public or independent schools. We provide an alternative for children who will thrive in this environment. Rest assured we are here to support you! Our Parent Education series will routinely address what it looks like to parent a child learning with our approach. We are all learners at Marva Collins Cottage School!

Application Process

Let's Get Started

#1 Application Packet

The first step in the process is to complete our application and submit it with the $25 non-refundable application fee no later than January 15th. Rolling admissions begins each year on January 16th. Families interested in applying after the application deadline may continue to submit applications until openings are filled. We request student records and teacher recommendations no later than February 1st for any child who has been previously enrolled in school.

#2 School Visit and Family Meeting

Once the forms are returned, we will schedule your child's visit. Incoming half day students are invited to attend the first two hours of school to share in morning meeting and the first academic block. Prospective full day students will have a four-hour visit through lunch and outdoor play. Our director will also meet with the adult family members.

#3 Admissions Decision

We will consider the school visit, teacher recommendations, and current mix of students in our admissions decision. Families will receive their admissions decision letter no later than the first week of March. Those applying during the rolling admissions period will receive notification within 4-6 weeks if the application is received after the notification date.

Tuition & Fees

The Financial Commitment

We realize that investing in tuition-based education for your child requires commitment. We endeavor to simplify the process with a standard tuition rate for our half day and full day programs. We do not assess any additional fees for books or supplies. Need-based scholarships are available via the Cottage School Scholarship Fund.  Fee-based Before Care and After Care are available on a weekly sign up basis.
